Atena sat down on the couch next to Dail and let out a sigh. Dail turned his attention from the TV set and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Bad day," Atena glumly replied. Dail nodded in agreement and they both fell into silence. Atena spoke up, "It's not like just one thing went wrong today, it was everything. It's like someone is out to sabotage me."
A smirk pulled at the corner of Dail's mouth. "Is that so? Does this someone have a name?"
"If they did it would be Bill."
      "Bill?"
      "Yeah, seemed to fit."
A brief silence passed and then Dail asked, "So there's a mysterious Bill man out to sabotage my girlfriend's life. Why on earth would he want to do that?"
Atena caught on to Dail's sarcasm and felt the pull of a relative smirk. "Oh, because he's jealous."
      "Jealous?"
"Yeah, who wouldn't be? I wake up, do homework, go to class, do homework, go to bed- who wouldn't be jealous?"
"Is that so? And this Bill character, in all his mad jealousy, decides to sabotage your life?"
"Yes. You see, first he sneaks into my wardrobe in the middle of the night and stains my favorite shirt."
Dail raised an eyebrow, "I don't think I like the idea of this guy lurking around my girlfriend's bedroom."
"Don't worry honey, he's a Eunuch.- And then, he goes into the kitchen, and he pours all of my coffee grounds down the sink. But he doesn't stop there. Then he takes my debit card out of my wallet and hides it."
"Hides it? Really? Bill sounds like the kind of guy who would keep it. He could get to Hawaii with that."
"Ah, but Bill isn't interested in Hawaii, he only wants to watch me suffer. So he hid my debit card in the lining of my purse. That way, after I hold up the line at Starbucks desperately searching for it, I will feel further embarrassed when I find it hours later floating around with the loose change."
"Wow, this Bill is a crafty, evil little man."
"Oh, he's not little, he's actually quite tall."
      "Oh really?"
Just then the doorbell called out its three note chime.
Atena's eyebrows met in confusion, "Who could that be?"
Dail climbed out of the couch as he replied, "Probably the Pizza guy. I ordered earlier hoping it would be ready by the time you got home."
"Well, your timing wasn't too far off." She pulled herself out of the couch and followed him to the door. "Here, I'll help."
As Dail pulled back the large wooden door the couple had to crane their necks to see the face of the man who held their two boxes of pizza with a side of breadsticks. A square piece of plastic pinned to his blue and red polo read, "Bill."
Dail and Atena couldn't stop laughing.

Based on a prompt from "The 3 a.m. Epiphany." A great book if you ever want to write, but you don't know what.
